What 38 means
Hermès measures Birkin and Kelly bags in centimeters across the base. Published size lists show Birkins at 25, 30, 35 and 40 cm, and Kellys at 20, 25, 28, 32 and 35 cm. - Shape: Togo softens with use. A bag that stays rigid after months is a different leather.

Reported asking prices for replica Birkin-style bags run from about $150 for machine-stitched copies to more than $1,200 for hand-stitched versions. The name "Gaillac" does not set a price. Leather grade, stitch method and hardware plating do.
Legal note
U.S. Customs and Border Protection can seize and destroy counterfeit goods under 19 U.S.C. § 1526, and can assess a civil penalty. Selling a replica as genuine adds trademark claims under the Lanham Act.
