What the Prada Re Bag Is
The "Prada Re bag" is the Prada Re-Edition line. Prada made the first nylon mini bag in 2000. The company reissued it in 2019 and 2020. Two shapes carry most of the sales: the Re-Edition 2000 and the Re-Edition 2005. Both use Re-Nylon and both carry the enamel triangle logo. Store prices for nylon versions sit between about $1,200 and $2,000.
Prada Re Original Explained: Re-Edition vs the 1990s Original
Re-Edition 2000
A small crescent hobo. One nylon strap. Zip top with a metal pull. The body holds a phone, a card case, and keys. Prada lists the size near 22 cm x 17 cm x 6 cm (8.7 in x 6.7 in x 2.4 in).
Fake Prada vs Authentic: How to Tell the Difference
Re-Edition 2005
A taller body with a short handle and a removable wide strap. Some colorways add a chain strap. Prada lists the size near 22 cm x 18 cm x 7 cm. Strap length changes between seasons.
Material
Re-Nylon is a regenerated nylon yarn. Prada states the yarn comes from recycled plastic waste, including fishing nets and carpet fiber. The finish is matte on Re-Nylon versions and glossy on some leather versions. Leather Re-Edition 2005 bags cost more than $2,000 at retail.
Price and Resale
Prices change with each season and each market. Check Prada's own site for the current list. On resale sites, black Re-Nylon models hold value better than seasonal colors. Condition, dust bag, and receipt affect the resale price.
